New Media: Knowing and Making

From the editors' preface:
Understanding new media is almost impossible for those who aren't actively involved in the experience of new media; for deep understanding, actually creating new media projects is essential to grasping their workings and poetics. The ideas described in these selections can open important new creative areas for beginners and professionals alike.

Hi All, I just updated my blog teachingphilosophyandyoga.blogspot.com. It is a long post, but it covers the new media seminar at the end. Actually, there are remarks about media throughout.

Also, I wanted to point you to a couple great student blogs/ integrative learning environments from my Classical PHilosophy class. http://phylakas.wordpress.com/ http://lilyying.blogspot.com/ http://swisely.wordpress.com/

HI Anne Marie- I think Gardner might be in session. There is no formal sign up for external participants- what you should do is sign up for the discussion forums:
http://www.atlhub.net/baylor_nms_s10/

Each week, at NMC, we are publishing a podcast with Gardner about the upcoming week's work, and will post other resources-- http://www.nmc.org/nmfs

It will be rather loosely joined- most of our interactions should be in the forums.

Hello Dr. Gardner,
Will there be a place to formally sign up for the seminar. I will be teaching "Emerging Media" online for Colorado Technical University in the Spring. I have done the readings for this week. The Bush article was mind boggling. The fax machine has come and gone but the Kindle is here and looks a lot like that library that was described.
