1. Create a Flickr Account (if you don’t already have one)
· Go to http://www.flickr.com and press the button Create Your Account choose the link Sign Up.
· Fill out the form and hit the button Create My Account at the bottom of the page. Remember do not use your BearID or password for this account.

2. Upload your files
a. Under the You menu choose the option Upload Photos and Videos

b. Follow the steps on the page:
i. Step 1 - Click the link Choose photos and videos.

ii. Select your file or files by clicking on the file name and pressing the Open button when you are done. (to choose multiple files hold down your Control key when selecting the filenames.)

i. At the next window called Upload to Flickr, you can set the privacy of the pictures. For the purpose of posting your story online, choose the radio button option Public. Click the button Upload Photos and Video to begin the upload process.

ii. When the upload process is complete you will receive a screen similar to the one below. Now you can add a description to your file by clicking the link add a description.

iii. On this screen you can add a Tag or description about the image(s) you have loaded. Also at this screen you can choose to edit your photo using Picnik (an online photo editing application) or you can add your photo to a set of photos much like a photo album.

2. Create your story by either joining the Flickr group “Tell a story in 5 frames” or creating your own Flickr group
a. Joining the Tell a story in 5 frames
i. Search for the group name under the menu option Groups.
ii. Click on group name
iii. Read through the group rules
iv. Select the option Join this Group
b. Create your own group
i. Choose the option Create a New Group under the Groups menu
ii. Choose the option of type of group you wish to create.
iii. Fill in the details and follow directions to create a group.

3. To add visual stories to the Tell a story in 5 frames (visual story telling) group, you will need to add the story to a discussion post and not the group photo pool.
a. Post a new topic by clicking on the link Post a new topic.
b. Put in your topic name in the Subject line. The topic will be the title of your story.
c. Enter your photographs in a numerical sequence up to five (5).
i. Using your Flickr account photos, return to "Your photos" by clicking on the Home option.
ii. Choose the photo you want to post by clicking on the image.
iii. Select the option All Sizes.

iv. Choose the size Small from the available options.

v. Copy the HTML from the To link to this photo… and paste into your post. Repeat for each photograph to create the sequence required for your story. We recommend using the Image tag in your post so that your pictures are viewable on the page opposed to just displaying 5 links. Your link should look like: <img src="URL">

Note: use two browsers windows to do this task – one window open to the discussion post and the other window open to your flickr site.
